Discovery Health Changes for 2012

The increase for 2012 is............................ 8.9%.

MedSaver Benefit:

Discovery Health members will qualify for up to 25% cash back on all schedule 1 and 2 medicines purchased from a Clicks store. The benefit is available to all members, subject to activation on the website. Cash backs will be paid into a member’s Discovery card or a nominated bank account.

HospitalXpress:

The service offers express pre-admissions online as well as other information and value-added services.

Allied and Therapeutic Extender Benefit:

The allied health benefits have been redesigned on the Executive, Comprehensive and Priority options.
Psychiatrists are now unlimited.
Psychologists; Chiropractors; Homeopaths; Speech therapists; Podiatrists; Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists (and a few other allied/therapeutic providers) are now grouped together with a sub-limit, depending on the option and family size.

KeyCare:

Additional procedures have been added to those done in a day-case facility, including but not limited to, hernia repair; vasectomy; hysteroscopy; removal of cataracts. Members will now have access to all KeyCare network casualty units at a flat fee of R185.

Adult dependant definition:

This will now only include spouses; ex-spouses; full time students up to age 25 or disabled.

Vitality:

HealthyCare – Vitality members save 25% on all products in the HealthyCare range, available at Clicks stores. This is in addition to the 5% to 15% that members already get back, depending on their Vitality status.

HealthyGear – Vitality members save 25% on Adidas sports equipment and gear at Adidas and Totalsports stores. Discovery Card holders can get up to a further 20%, depending on their Vitality status and number of years on Vitality.
