What is the Classic Comprehensive Plan by Discovery Health?
The Classic Comprehensive Plan offers unlimited private hospital cover, and approved in-hospital specialists up to 200% of the Discovery Health Rate (DHR). Discovery’s formulary provides complete cover for chronic medicine for all Chronic Disease List (CDL) diseases. Covers up to two cycles of authorized Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART), paying 75% of the treatment up to R129 000 per year. Comprehensive prenatal and postnatal medical aid cover for maternity and early children. A generous savings account and a restricted Above Threshold Benefit (ATB) to cover day-to-day healthcare expenses. Additional coverage through the Day-to-Day Extender Benefit (DEB).
Does the Classic Comprehensive plan cover dental surgery?
Classic Comprehensive includes a In-Hospital Dentistry Benefit that provides comprehensive cover for severe in-hospital dental and oral surgical procedures. There is no upfront payment or total limit. The Dental Trauma Benefit covers an annual limit of R65,150 per person for sudden and unexpected injury to the teeth and mouth.
What are the Classic Comprehensive plan maternity benefits?
By pre-authorizing the members delivery or registering the infant as a dependant, the Classic Comprehensive plan provides cover for both maternity and early childhood. A members is covered for pregnancy-related healthcare and treatment during the first two years of the baby’s life. This applies to each pregnancy, and child from birth until two years old, beginning with the benefit activation date.
