Grid members can choose from 2 options to pay for day-to-day expenses. The FIXED savings option works like a regular Medical Savings Account (MSA). Members save on monthly premiums by only using Fedhealth’s Grid Hospital Network for planned procedures. The Grid Network includes around 120 of South Africa’s leading private hospitals, as well as a variety of network service providers. Flexifed 3 Grid customers can still use non-network hospitals, although a co-payment will apply. This co-payment does not apply in the event of an emergency.
Does the Flexifed 3 Grid plan cover visits to the GP?
Flexifed 3 Grid covers unlimited consultations with Grid Network GP’s, and non-network GP’s are covered at 100% of the Fedhealth Rate. Treatment required for PMB conditions are always paid by Fedhealth, if members follow the protocols.
What are the Flexifed 3 Grid prescribed minimum benefits (PMBs)?
Flexifed 3 Grid prescribed minimum benefits (PMBs) are a set of predetermined diseases part of the Medical Schemes Act. Members of Flexifed 3 Grid, can obtain treatment for 270 hospital-based and 27 chronic conditions, and the treatment cost is fully covered by Fedhealth.
